A huge thank you to all the hardy, valiant souls who came out on Saturday for the Fall Clean Up. A satisfying pile of garbage was collected and taken away to the dump. Special shouts-out to Mike Gillam for his life-saving cups of tea and to St. John’s East Liberal candidate Nick Whalen for collecting a bag of trash from the path beside Holy Heart.

1. Solidarity with Labrador Trivia Night
Join Solidarity with the Labrador Land Protectors for a family-friendly evening of home-baked treats and half-baked trivia, in support of the Labrador Land Protectors’ legal fees. Thursday, Oct 10th, 7-9pm at St. Thomas Church and Parish Hall.

c. St. John’s Baby Clothes Library. A new library is set to open in St. John’s later this fall for sharing baby clothes, from size preemie to 2T. Clothes will be able to be picked up and dropped off at the St. John’s Tool Library during its hours of operation.

a. The Georgestown Café and Bookshelf, 73 Hayward Ave, 579-7134. Open 8:00am until 5:00pm from Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00am until 5:00pm on Sunday.
b. The Georgestown Bakery, 60 Hayward Ave, 753-8099. Open from Tuesday until Friday, from 7:00 until 5:30pm, and on Saturday from 7:00 until 3:00. Bagels, baguettes, breads of many varieties as well as sweets!
