1. Giant indoor moving sale! Sunday, March 10th, from noon until 4:00 p.m., at 12 Maxse Street. Lots of kitchen items (dishes, pots, cutlery, glasses, cake pans…), carpets, lamps, a Nilus-Leclerc 46-inch counter-balance floor loom with four different reeds, wool, wool roving, induction hot plates, bookshelf, Klipsch tower speakers, apartment-size refrigerator, antique desk, antique sleigh bed, cushions, small sofa, Cristmas items, decorative items, and much more!!!

a. Wellness through Food Sharing. Monday, March 4th, 1:00-2:30 p.m.
In support of the regional food drive this month, Margie Mulcahy will offer an “Energy Medicine” session. This will be an introductory session with a short series of techniques designed to reduce stress and to enhance overall health and vitality. In exchange for this hour-long session, you are invited to bring non-perishable food items which will be donated to the Community Food Sharing Association. 7. Eating in Georgestown.
a. The Georgestown Café and Bookshelf are open 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, and from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. 73 Hayward Avenue, 709-579-7134.

b. The Georgestown Bakery, 60 Hayward Avenue, is open from Tuesday until Friday, from 7:00 until 5:30 p.m., and on Saturday from 7:00 until 3:00. Bagels, baguettes, breads of many varieties as well as sweets! 753-8099.

c. The Hungry Heart Café,142 Military Road, 738-6164.

i. IMPORTANT EVENT: Pancake breakfast for the homeless. Tuesday, March 5th, 7:00-10:30 a.m. $5.00 minimum per person. Cash only. For more information:

Afternoon Tea. Wednesdays, 3:00-5:00 p.m. A selection of fine teas, sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and preserves, pastries and sweets. Call 757-8097 to reserve your seating.
8. ​The Loop at Bannerman Park.
Daily hours 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., except during ice resurfacing (no skating): Monday to Thursday: 8:00-10:00 a.m. and 2:30-3:15 p.m.; Friday to Sunday: 8:00-10:00 a.m.; 1:15-2:00 p.m. and 4:00-4:45 p.m.

Call The Loop line at 733-LOOP (5667) to check if it’s open. The Loop line is updated during closures resulting from poor ice conditions.

All visitors must follow the rules and regulations posted around The Loop, and on the City website, so all skaters have fun while remaining safe during the season ahead.
