1. Pancake Breakfast for the Homeless
The Hungry Heart Cafe is having their annual pancake breakfast on Tuesday, Feb 25th, from 7:00-10:30am. $7 cash per person. The meal includes housemade pancakes, inhouse cured bacon, fruit, tea/coffee. Servers will be volunteers from the community and the organization. You can drop by and for a delicious breakfast while raising up the issue of homelessness.

2. Super Happy Fun Time Comedy Show
Come have a laugh with co-hosts Josh Menchions and Andrew Kay at the Super Happy Fun Time Comedy show Friday, Feb 28th, 8:30-10:30pm at the Lantern. Plenty of comedians to make you laugh and forget about how miserable life really is. So come on down and bring a friend. The show may be free but be sure to bring some money for Accessible NL merchandise. For more information, visit:

3. The Indy Presents: Leap Day Gala 2020
The Indy is proud to present its first ever Leap Day Gala on Saturday, Feb 29th, 8:00pm-12:00am at the Lantern! Prepare yourself for a night of fun and excitement, with the amazing Mary Walsh featured as the evening’s MC! There will be live and silent auctions, raffles, DJ sets by Abbsooloot Entertainment, dancing, custom cocktails, food by talented local chefs, and much more! All proceeds will go to support The Indy ( in their mission to provide independent local media to the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. 4. The Children’s Centre Family Skate at Bannerman Park Loop
The Children’s Centre will be meeting at the Loop Sunday, Mar 1st, 2:00-4:00pm.

5. Non-profits/Small Business Drop in at the St. John’s Tool Library
The Tool Library is hosting an informal drop-in open house for non-profit, charity, and small business owners, employees, and volunteers Tuesday, Mar 3rd, 1:30-3:00pm. The St. John’s Tool Library aims to make some of your projects simpler by providing cost-effective tool borrowing so that you can save time, money, and storage space. 6. Public Engagement Campaign on the Future of St. John’s Public Libraries
The St. John’s Public Libraries Board (SJPLB) is excited to launch a visioning campaign to mark the 200th anniversary of the founding of the St. John’s Library system. The Once & Future Library campaign aims to connect with the public on library planning and invites input from everyone towards upcoming renovations to the second floor of the A C Hunter Library, funded in significant part by our board. 7. Heritage Financial Incentives Program
Most if not all buildings in Georgestown are located in one of St. John’s three Heritage Areas and are therefore eligible for the City’s Heritage Financial Incentives Program. Applications are accepted between March 1st and May 1st and can be found on the City of St. John’s website:

c. St. John’s Baby Clothes Library. A new library is set to open in St. John’s later this fall for sharing baby clothes, from size preemie to 2T. Clothes will be able to be picked up and dropped off at the St. John’s Tool Library during its hours of operation.
