2. Celebrate Heritage Week at the Lantern!
The Georgestown Neighbourhood Association is hosting a special talk at the Lantern on Barnes Road, February 18th, to celebrate Heritage Week 2020. Local architect Grant V. Genova will be speaking on 2020 Vision: Bringing the Past into the Future. He will be focusing on environment, power, society and systems, and thinking about them in the context of your neighbourhood. The talk will begin at 7:30pm and refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
Mr. Genova has practiced Architecture since 1975 in Montreal, Miami & St. John’s. He is currently vice president of the Newfoundland & Labrador Association of Architects, and works with the Inclusion Committee of St.John’s, the Universal Design Network and is on the Board of the Historic Trust.

3. Parking at Holy Heart
Many Georgestown residents have been parking in the Holy Heart parking lot during winter and particularly during storms. The school asks residents not to park there as it impedes snow clearing and salting which in turn creates a safety issue for students and school buses. In the past month, some vehicles left on the Holy Heart parking lot overnight have been ticketed.
